About Us

African Women in Media is an international non-governmental organisation aiming to positively impact how media functions in relation to African women. Our members are African women from a diverse range of media backgrounds. AWiM has become a lighthouse and a platform where women in media can inspire, support and empower each other.

Through our interconnected portfolios, we offer capacity-building opportunities for media professionals through self-paced courses, editorial and publishing opportunities for freelance journalists and a wide database of African experts in different fields at the click of a button.
