Peace and Conflict Reporting
This course is designed to deepen African female journalists’ understanding of global, continental and local policies around peace and security and their professional roles in reporting and promoting such policies. It covers eight modules on policies on women, peace and security, and guidelines for reporting such issues. They will also be led to reflect on basic ethical principles of media, national codes of ethics, strategies for integrating a gender lens in reporting peace and security and share ideas to guide collaborative engagements with policy actors.

Peace and Conflict Reporting
In this 2-hour, self-paced course, we’ll introduce you to solutions journalism which is evidence-based reporting on responses to social problems. You’ll learn specific techniques to use this constructive and ethical approach to report on peace and security issues. We’ll cover examples that show you how to write stories that contextualise conflicts and curate their impact on society. With four modules and five short assessment quizzes, you’ll leave this course with the confidence to discover and then cover the big stories on your beat.
